I thought of that ;-)

Hands on Nashville is an amazing organization in Nashville that helps people find volunteer opportunities. Each year they place about 24,000 volunteers in different projects in Nashville. If you are interested in learning more about them check out http://www.hon.org/. I teamed up with them recently to help a group of teens create a mural at Fannie Battle Day Care. Here are some pictures of that mural based on The Napping House by Don and Audrey Wood.

It turned out so awesome that we are moving forward with an even bigger project at the Nashville Rescue Mission. On Monday, MLK Day, we are expecting over 100 volunteers to paint 5 murals throughout the Nashville Rescue Mission! They are even saying that Mayor Karl Dean is going to help out.
I have already sketched out the 5 murals and will be outlining them at the Mission this weekend so that the volunteers will know where to put their paintbrushes Monday morning. The largest mural will be in the dining room and is based on the story of Jesus feeding the masses. I can't wait to show you the pictures of the finished product!
That's an exciting and worthwhile project -- just think of all the unity of purpose it will provide. I'm eager to see the results.
